Frequently Asked Questions

If you don't ask us questions we can't give you the answers.  If we don't have the answer to your question posted somewhere below it's not because we think it is a stupid question and no one on planet earth could possibly go around not knowing the answer to such a simple question.  We probably just haven't been asked yet.  Be a trailblazer sport and submit your question over to the right of this here paragraph.  The gnomes need something to do.

REAL ESTATE TOURS FAQS

What are the differences between video tours and virtual tours?

In 2009 there are still people who believe that there are none.  Once they are all retired, the rest of us will rejoice as the home buying and selling process instantly becomes easier and more enjoyable.  The differences are obvious to most anyone who has ever seen both.  One feels like you've got a fishbowl on your head while sitting on a sit and spin.  The other feels more natural as if you're actually there, which allows you to concentrate on the overall look and flow of the house.  One is cheap and outdated the other is new and admittedly more expensive.  We believe you pay for what you get and you get what you pay for.

What equipment do I need to buy to get a video tour on the MLS or my website?

Survey Says:  ZERO, ZIP, ZILCH, NADAH.  We do all the work and own all of the equipment needed to make your video tour easily accessible.  We shoot it, we edit it, we upload it to our servers and we host it until the sale of the home is final.  You can link to it's very own page hosted on our website or even embed the video to your website.  Not sure how to make that happen?  No worries our productions gnomes will assist.

Are there any monthly fees associated with video tours.

No.  We host the video right here at purviewvideo.com for the life of the listing and we also can make an embed code available for use on your website as part of the package price.

How long will the video tour be for my property?

We try to keep tours under three minutes in length.  It's really for no other reason than the attention spans of most people on the web.  Despite what some would say, you can show a house in 3 minutes.  If needed the video can be longer.

How long does shooting the tour take?  How fast do I get it?

Hey!  That's two questions.  They are great questions so we'll accept them and even give you an answer for both.  Play by the rules next time!  The time it takes to shoot a house/property really depends on the size of the house/property.  We try to keep tours under three minutes, but shoot times can take between an hour to all day.  Why all day?  Hey that would be three questions and totally unacceptable at this time.  (Because moving our equipment from room to room is hard work, and we don't want to break anything.)  We work the gnomes nonstop, so we try really really hard to get the tour back to you within 24 hours of your shoot.  Sometimes the gnomes revolt though.

Can I use my favorite music on my tour?

We do not want to go back to working near, around or in a cubicle.  Unless you can get the expressed written permission required to not get sued, the short answer is no.  We will not put your favorite mix on anything we put our hands on.  We have access to an extensive library of music, so do the responsible thing and just tell us what type of music you would like.  Or you could just leave it up to us.

How long will my video tour be available?  (link and/or embed code)

As long as the property is on the market.  Keep in mind that whoever pays for the tour is the owner of the link and embed code.  If you are a homeowner whose video tour was paid for by your realtor and then drop that realtor...we're sorry, it belongs to them.
